📍 New: Zoning Analysis & Permit Matrices

At your request, we have been working on scraping and indexing zoning ordinances nationwide. We’re pleased to share that detailed zoning analysis is now available for a handful of states!

We also noticed that many of you were uploading PDFs of zoning ordinances, meeting minutes, and permit matrices into the document diligence tool.

💡 Pro tip: You can also upload scanned PDFs into document diligence, and Spark will run OCR for you.

Zoning Analysis in Reports:

Zoning ordinances at the parcel or AHJ level is now available in AZ, MD, and parts of IL, NY, WA.

We heard from many of you that finding and interpreting zoning ordinances to identify districts that permit solar/BESS, along with their setback and height restrictions are among the most cumbersome parts of site diligence. Now, you can use Spark to identify, find, and unpack the zoning rules in an AHJ. We’ll instantly flag properties such as:

• Last amendment to the ordinance

• Definitions and mentions of solar

• Districts permitting solar

• Performance requirements
