Just like that, we’re already one month into 2025! We hope your January has been a good one. We’ve been busy building more for you based on feedback we’ve gotten.

See zoning information highlighted for your AHJ!

We've been hearing more about the importance of finding applicable zoning documents and surfacing key information from within them. To that end, we've released two new improvements for zoning data, starting with the state of Maryland:

1. When you search a county or parcel to retrieve its Report, there's a new card beneath the local sentiment summary that highlights solar definitions and requirements from within the relevant zoning ordinance.

2. For increased accuracy, we now automatically identify the AHJ relevant to the location for that Report and use the corresponding zoning ordinance. If the AHJ for the parcel you looked up is a township, we will pull that specific town's zoning ordinance as the basis for extracting solar definitions and allowances.
We will still default to the county level zoning ordinance in the absence of one at a more local level.

Note that this feature is initially launched for Reports covering only the state of Maryland. We went deep gathering zoning data in one state to provide and validate an improved experience there. We will have zoning card support for more jurisdictions on the way. Let us know if you want to see specific geographies prioritized.
